As it was Half Term in the UK last week and we had family here on holiday here in Nueva Andalucia, we decided to take advantage of a beautiful sunny day and do something exciting with the kids on the Costa Del Sol.
So we decided to go to Selwo Aventura Estepona, which is on the N340 Km 162,500 just a few minutes drive passed AgroJardin Garden Centre Estepona. Selwo Aventura is abit like being in Jurassic Park. Its huge with many of the animals living in their natural environment.
On the ground level there are birds, monkeys, crocodiles etc and normally there is a Childrens play area and other activies, however there was some works being carried out.
The main attractions are up in the hills. You can either walk through the bird avery which is about a 15 minute walk to the first stop or take the safari trucks up. We took the Safari Truck! There are two stops, each takes about 10 minutes to get to. It can be quite a rocky journey and the day we went it was very windy and cold.
At both stops you can get out and walk around to see the animals closer up. At both levels there is a cafe or restaurant and toilets. We seemed to be up in the hills for hours. It was such a great day out. We had a 2year old and a 3 year old with us and they really had a good time looking at all the animals.
Wear confortable shoes! The floor surface can be quite uneven and hilly. In the summer make sure you and the kids are well covered with sun factor and clothing. There no shade when walking around looking at the animals.
You could even stay over for a night or two from approximately 70€ per night staying in one of the huts.

So on February 28th, Dia De Andalucia, I thought Id go to Selwo and get a card which some of my friends have, which costs around 50eurso and allows you go to go to all 3 Selwo Parks on Costa Del Sol from January through to December.
I searched the website completely and I couldnt find it.
However,if you have a NIE Number you can go there and fill out a form. 51€uros per person including kids 3 years plus, it allows you to go to Selwo Estepona, Selwo Marina Benalmadena or Telecabinia whenever you wish unti Dec 31st.
Then it needs to be renewed which costs around 30€uros. So if you live here or come regularly, if you go 3 or more times then its worth getting one of these cards.
Also, now there is a little farm area at Selwo Estepona which is really nice. You could go there for an hour or so without even going up into the hills on the buses.
