We have been meaning to go to Cordoba for ages as some friends of ours moved back there. We knew it was a City with lots of history but didnt realise how great it was going to be.
We left on Friday around 2ish and was in Cordoba about 4.30. We stayed in the Tryp Gallos Hotel which was actually in a good location. Just 3 minutes walk and you are in the main centre.
Right by our hotel was a massive park area for kids and cafes - really buzzing with families. Then in the main city centre, you have all the normal shops, Mango, Zara, El Corte Ingles even Mothercare in Cordoba.
We went to La Mezquita / Cathedral which was one of the most amazing buildings I have ever been in. Read more and see more photos here.
The after a whole day of looking around the City, visiting La Mezquita / Cathedral, Synagoge and seeing all the other bits and pieces we went to see some friends that live in Almodovar del Rio 20 minutes from the City.
Then on Sunday we drove to Villaviciosa de Cordoba, which I was told was 20 minutes away!!! A Spanish 20 minutes which ended up being nearly 1 hour. A friend of mine who lives in Marbella is from there so we went to see them.
We drove through some of the most amazing scenery ever and was definately worth the drive. We spent the day in The Campo eating fresh meat and vegetables from the farm, my little girl had just the best day being with her little boyfriend from nursery and all his family. Her highight of the day was holding a baby lamb that was only born the night before.
We had an amazing day and the Spanish Family we were with couldnt have been more welcoming. We got by very well with our Spanish, although our 3 year old does sometimes put us to shame. It was the first time we really experienced a proper Spanish Day and one that we couldnt ever buy.

Fantastic!
