Today we took a drive up to Monda to have a look at the Marbella Design School. They used to be in Marbella and now have a brand new building in Monda.
It took a while to find it as it wasnt listed in Sat Nav and we forgot to print off directions, but once we got there, its pretty simple.
As we parked up and walked towards the building, we were already saying "Wow, this is amazing" and as you go inside, it just gets better and better.
Marbella Design School offer a range of courses all taught in English including Interior and Furniture Design, Marbella, Fashion Design in Marbella, Graphic Design in Marbella, Digital Film & Television Course in Marbella & Web Design in Marbella. The whole place is just incredible.
We had a long chat with Helle who is the Director of Marbella Design School. Helle was a joy to talk to. Shes a fantastic lady who really knows her stuff about design and cares so much about her school and her students doing well. Shes talks about them with the highest respect and is so proud of what they have acheived.
But they couldnt acheieve it without Helle and her staff and all the completely up to date technology that they use. They even have their own cinema and restaurant.
As a took trip to the loo I came across a room which I could have sat in all day - a room full of fabrics, patterns, sewing machines for Fashion Design...once upon a time, many years ago I was going to be a fashion designer!
The whole place is incredible. Many parents send their kids back to the UK to study, or sometimes the whole family go back - mainly because of the language barrier, but if you can afford it, this really is a great solution for families with kids whose only barrier is the language. They have students from over 33 countries and its all taught in English.
After walking around Marbella Design School, it really makes you want to go back to school and learn. Its just a 10 minute drive from La Canada.
