Law for dogs in Cars in Spain - Dogs in Cars in Spain law

Not to sure if many people know this but after we took our Charlie to the vet the other day and I asked "where the best place for him to sit in the car?" I was told that by law dogs MUST either be in the boot or on the back seat with a proper seat belt lead.

The lead can be bought in Pointers Nueva Andalucia and at 6.50€ its the cheapest one around I can find. El Corte Ingles had one for about 12€uros. Basically one clip fits straight into the seat belt hole and the other clips onto his lead or harness.

Apparently police are quite strict if they stop you.

Hi Ian,

I was told by the Vets just a few weeks ago, dogs eithe rhave to be in the boot or on the back seat with a seat belt.

I have put this on Twitter to see if any other locals know the real law. So keep your eyes on this post, hopefully someone will let me know soon.

Regards

Joanne
