The Jungle Book - Echegaray Theatre Malaga

This morning we set off for Malaga City. As we are really enjoying going to the theatre, today for the first time we went to Echegaray Theatre - Teatro Echegaray in Malaga which is the Childrens Theatre - Teatro Infantil.

Today was The Jungle Book. We went to the 1pm show. Its a really lovely theatre and all looks brand new. The seats, stage, entrance, toilets, all so clean.

The stage was set out and everyone took their seats. I think we were the only English People in the whole theatre - infact Im pretty sure we were.

We had seats Row 3, Seats 17, 16 & 15 which were the far end of the 3rd row from the front so really close to the stage.

The show started and it was really good. The music wasnt quite the same - obviously it was all in Spanish, but they had adapted it quite alot. The kids seemed to love it, especially when the tigers and monkeys came out into the audience to dance with all the kids. When they asked for some children to go up on stage, wow, Ive never seen so many outgoing kids.

It lasted about 1 hour 20 minutes and for 6€uros per person it was fantastic value - infact we wondered how it worked and think maybe its subsedised. There were only about 200-300 seats I think.

I did think it was going to be children actors, but it wasnt. It was grown men in leotards, prancing and dancing around...I think I might have to sit a little further back next time as I just kept getting the giggles. Ive also not been to such a small play like this before - so for me it was very much overacted.

But, will definately go again and for 6€uros its amazing value. The toll has also gone down to 3.75€ so its not so expensive to drive safely.

The restaurant just outside also have a really cheap menu for kids for 4.50€ if you have been to the theatre.

Direction for Teator Echegaray from Marbella - follow the same directions as to Teatro Cervantes from Marbella.

Park in the same place Car Park Alcazaba in Malaga. Walk down the road away from Gibralfaro and its down on the left - ask someone where Teatro Echegaray is - everyone knew.
