Pay as you Go Phone Movistar
I did have a pay as you go with Movistar a long time ago but because I didnt recharge it, the number was given to someone else.
But today I thought I have to go buy one. So I went back to my guy at El Corte Ingles in Marbella. 9€uros for a sim card which 6€uros of that is credit. This is great value I think. I already have a spare phone.
I gave to my parents in law so we can call them and they can call us with out the calls going back and forth the UK and being charged a bomb.

They will clean all along the coast from Benalmadena to Sotogrande. Best to call for rates as it depends on the types of clean you want. It may just be a light clean or heavy duty. Also depends on how many people they need etc etc.

Adivina dónde me voy ahora?
No irrita, no ojos llorosos.
Eastenders - 8 months on no change
I have to say its pretty easy, tv soaps is a bit like smoking...once you get it out of your system you dont miss it.
We have had apple tv though to keep us going but downloading all the films and series to watch does work out pretty expensive.
So weve had Freeview now for 2 days. My daughter somehow still hasnt seen this HUUUUUGE satilite on our terrace - so we havent told her we have it yet. Im lovely her watching everything is Spanish now and its just normal to her now.
But last night having my tv dinner I accidently on purpose had it on bbc1 Eastenders.
So 8 Months ago, Janine was coming on to Alfie...8 months later - no change there.
8 Months ago Lucy was an bitch blackmailing everyone - 8 months later - no change there.
8 Months ago Jack and Ronnie just gave each other dirty looks - 8 months later - no change there.
Jack cant stop going with Mitchell Girls, Lucy is still a bitch, Ricky still as thick as ever.
The only change I saw was Sam - who doesnt really look normal anymore.
I can see why people enjoy their soaps and trust me I LOVED Eastenders, brookside, corrie all of them. But having taken a break from them I realise that Ive not actually missed anything.
I am however looking forward to XFactor & The Apprentice.
Mercadona Face Creams & Cosmetics - Crema de Caviar
One English One Spanish woman, both used quite expensive creams before. My Spanish Friend was using Lancome and spending about 60€uros on a small pot.
She was introduced to Crema de Caviar Face Cream in Mercadona and absolutely swears by it. I must say her skin looked fantastic.
Ive even found a forum post about here http://foro.enfemenino.com/forum/beaute1/__f20125_beaute1-Crema-de-caviar-de-mercadona.html
Guess where Im off to?
Update: Just been to Mercadona and went straight to creams. There are testers so tried it out first and then did shopping. I have really sensitive skin and been badly affected by Clarins and Oil Ulay. This seemed to be fine...no irritation, no eyes watering. Bought the pot of cream 8.50€ and cream for bags under eyes 6€uros. The one for bags probably wont work but I dont mind trying it for 6€ rather than 20pounds or more in the UK. So will let you know how it goes in the next week or so...
If you try it let me know what you think!

Bathroom Cleaning Products in Spain
Stone, Marbella, Stainless Steel, Aluminium, Gres etc
Ive got a few probs where obviously a product Ive used has taken the shine of the marble worktops. Even where something has dropped on the floor. Its really amazing how strong these products are.
I bought an Antical Spray the other day in Mercadona. I used it and then read - MUST NOT GO ON Natural Stone, Marble etc etc. This makes cleaning impossible as the cal is on the taps and shower screen right next to the marble and stone.
Im now just going back to 3 products. Estrella which seems to be able to use on everything, Glass Cleaner and Aloe Vera Floor Cleaner from Mercadona which you seem to be able to use on most floors.
Also learnt that only use Sponges with these products. They are just too strong. Im even thinking about going back to good old Jif or Cif.

The Sky Doctor - Free View TV Marbella
So I called around and got a few different prices mainly around 249€ and 299€ for the basic freeview package.
I settled on using The Sky Doctor as I read about them on the internet, couldnt find anything bad and sounded very professional.
The guys came the next day (yesterday) and were dead on time (always a nice rarety). I took them up to show where the other sky dish was and I think I heard a little swear word come out, as obviously I forgot to mention where it was and how high up. But nevertheless, they got on with the job and it took 2 hours mainly because we just couldnt find the cable box.
But they got on with it and the job was done. Got the basic package so the remote control doesnt have favourites and cant see what is on but we have it.
249€ for the satillite, freeview box and fitting. I didnt think that was too bad. Very good service. Although we will see how good the service is if and when we have a problem. I have 1 year guarantee and during that time they should come and sort it out. Im sure they will not dissapoint.

Charity Walk for Ciudad de Los Niños Orphanage - Malaga Orphanage
A lady I train introduced me to your blogspot.
I wonder if it's possible to inform your followers of a Sponsored Walk taking place on Sunday 29th November in aid of the Ciudad de los Ninos, Christmas Wish List.
The walk is starting from the Alanda Club Marbella, Elviria up to the Kudos Bar, La Mareina.
Anyone who would like a sponsorship form can e-mail me at info@clublight.net or visit http://www.clublight.net/ for more info.
We went to La Ciudad de Los Niños and gave a car load of things. What they really need are items some of us just dont think of. Food that doesnt go off, tins, cans, jars, olive oil. Toiletries for the growing kids, shaving foam, soap, razors etc.
There are drop off points where you can leave these items instead of driving all the way to Malaga.

English Locksmiths Marbella - Titan Locks
So instead I thought Id get a proper patio lock put on it.
I called a couple of places and decided on the guy from Titan Locks. He came round that day and put a really nice flat lock on the patio doors which doesnt stick out. Its completely smooth to the door. (something that I wish i thought of before putting numerous patio door locks on my own house).
Came on time (one of the most important factors) was there about 25minutes and it cost me 40€uros.
Gordon is a really nice guy, did a really good job at a price I think is very very reasonable.
Will certainly use him again.
Some other people when you call ask to come round and see the property first - this way they can flog you more security things when all you want is 1 patio lock.

Golden Sun Benavista - Golden Sun Chinese Restaurant
Its my second time there - hence it must have been good the first time or I wouldnt have gone back.
Now, many of you that know me know that Im rather fussy where I eat. I also have problems with certain foods, mainly peppers, too creamy, spicy etc.
Chinese Food that I have had here before has been sooo glupey that I havent eaten it much as it normally really does me in...I just feel ill.
But the first timeI went to Golden Sun I ate lots of different things and was absolutely fine the next day. Today no exception except for the tiredness as it was a later night than usual.
Lots of food, lots of drink and for 5 of us the bill came to 150€ including tip. 30€ each for a great night from 9pm to 1am. The staff are really really nice and good fun and it was so lovely that they even bought the birthday girl a bag.
In fact last time it worked out exactly the same per person.
Really busy, great atmosphere, good food, great value and of course the company I was with were all superb. Thanks girlies for a lovely evening, its nice to be getting out again!!!
Definately Recommend It!!! and no I havent been paid to say this :)

Personal Review of Sunless Soluctions Spray Tan - Marbella Mobile Beauty
I cant beleive its exactly 1 year ago when I did a review of Solglo Spray Tan for Joanna Hooper of Marbella Mobile Beauty.
Today Im trying out her new Spray Tan Product by Sunless Solutions. Because of the "Crisis" she has searched hi and low for a cheaper spray tan for her customers old and new.
After looking at numerous products and doing her reasearch she settled on also using Sunless Solutions along with Sol Glow so her customers have a choice of price.
Im going to write this like a diary as so many people found the other review useful, Im going to do the same again.
Things to know about Sunless Solutions Product.
1) Backed by Brisiths Skin Cancer Association
2) Hardly Any Smell
3) 8-12 hours to develope
4) Shouldnt come off on sheets
Day 1
Tent goes up in seconds. You can wear what you want, nothing, knickers, thong, bra - up to you. Joanna is lovely and no need to feel awkward or self confident at all. You stand in the tent whilst she sprays you. Takes around 5 minutes. Can be a bit cold so have a robe close by for when you get out. Sunless Solutions says it hardly smells....well I can confirm that - you hardly smell anything. I had it done this afternoon. Its suppose to take around 8 to 12 hours to develope so will wait till tomorrow to have a shower. I already feel like I look much better, healthier with a tan. Going to put a tracksuit on - Joanna says wear loose clothing whilst it developes. I cant really feel anything on my skin at all - so thats good.
Day 2
Well woke up and pleased to say didnt find any tan marks on sheets. I did however look quite a lot darker than yesterday - so the tan really does keep developing for up to 12 hours. Had a shower and although didnt see any tan run in the water my colour faded very slightly giving a more real tan colour. Skin still feels as normal, but think the colour looks good.
Day 3
Went out last night, friends said I looked really well and healthy - told them I had spray tan and they were amazed. They really thought Spray Tans were more orange. Still really nice colour, face and hands faded very slightly, legs still really good colour. Skin feels a little dry today - may be to do with tan but prob because I havent used any moisturiser. Really really like the colour. Just love the colour of my legs.
Day 4
Still Tanned! Faded slightly more from face and can see it start to break up in the inside of arm by elbow but very very slightly. Legs and body still really good colour. Really pleased with how the colour has lasted.
Day 5
Colour still good, face faded quite a bit now. Legs still fab colour
Day 6
Can now see colour starting to break up around feet and legs - still able to wear a skirt though.
Day 7
Legs still got colour, skin looks a little dry where the colour is breaking up. Definately loosing most of the colour now.
Day 8
Looks like colour all gone but still got "White Bits". Legs look more scaley but only close up. Dont think other people would notice.
My Thoughts on Sunless Solutions.
Honestly...if you havent had a spray tan before and didnt want to spend the money, then book one soon for 20€uros and try it before the offer finishes. 20€uros isnt going to break the bank. The colour is fab and you look and feel great for a few days. Fantastic if you have a party, wedding or any special occassion where you want to feel good. If worried about the colour have it done 2 days beforehand - or try it out first as everyones skin is different.
Really good product, hardly any smell and considering its cheaper than Sol Glo, thought it lasted really well.
Call now for the 20€uro offer - Joanna 637 444 136

What happens if your hire car is stolen
Someone rented a car here at Malaga. They went to the beach and one of their bags were stolen.
In the bag were many personal items including the keys to the car. The theives then went to the car park and tried every car until they found the car.
They stole it.
The car company then tried to take the money to the value of the car out of their bank account.
Theres lots of other issues going on with lawyers etc, but the car hire company are saying that they are responsible for paying for the car.
CHECK WHAT YOUR INSURANCE COVERS YOU FOR.
Things are really bad here in Spain with unemployment and unfortunately this sort of crime is going to happen.
Dont be rushed to sign contracts, read the small print and write down all the questions you need to ask beforehand and make sure you are completely aware of what the insurance covers.
Try also finding car hire companies that put everything all the small print in English

Taxi Price from Puerto Banus to Malaga Airport
However, Ive been to their website and the price on their website a taxi from Puerto Banus to Malaga Airport is 64€ monday to saturday 0600 to 2200 or 76€ Monday to Saturday 2200 to 0600.
So why do I not know ANYONE that has paid this amount?
From Malaga Airport there is an extra charge. But I dont know anyone that has paid 64€ to Malaga Airport. I do know people that have paid 75, 80, 90 even 100€.
Why dont they just put Meters in the taxis and then more people may use them. Personally I recommend people instead of a taxi get a private transfer through a reputable company where the price is set before hand.
Pregnant in Marbella - I just found out Im pregnant living in Marbella
G
Hi G,
I used Dr Berral and also Dr Benito, both in Marbella. I really like Dr Benito and still see him. Berral is nice too. These are both private so you pay as you go unless you have health insurance that will cover you but normally if youve had policy for 10 months.
YOu could also go to www.mumsinspain.com claire who runs the forum lots of other mums and mums to be. Re Midwife....you could try contact Ann Halpenny on Tel: 630 231 037 Not too sure if she is still working as shes just had babies of her own. Tell her jo from Nueva Andlaucia Life passed you her number.
I prefer to see midwives. The gynis will tell you you must go for this scan that scan, but it depends on how you feel. IN uk you only have 2 scans maybe 3. Here, you could have one everyweek...so its down to you. You can become very paranoid that somethings wrong and its so easy just to go and pay for one. This should be enough info to get you through. Hospitals...costa del sol which is NHS and Hospten and USP private - both heard very good. Me I had my daughter in CDS.
I hope this helps. Do let me know how you get on.
Congratualtions.
Regards
Joanne

I needed some Horseriding Trousers and Boots and Decathlon are the cheapest place. Today we went to Decathlon in Malaga. It is a brilliant shop for all sports and cheap too.
They market things really well, so you want to buy it as it looks cheap. I bought some Horseriding Boots for 12€. Found some trousers in the sale from 40 to 12€. My husband bought some excercise tops - normally gets nike at around 40€ each but bought Decathlon tops for about 6€uros each - he is going to see what they are like.
Also bought bike pump, sport socks and a pair of really good walking boots for my daughter. I was going to get her another pair of trainers but saw these boots and thought they were great.
Pink and Grey Ankle boots with not many holes for the laces which is great. Really good sole for gripping and waterproof they say.... 11.95€. I think that is brilliant value.
All this and a couple of other bits for about 80€uros.
They have a great selection of roller skates and scooters. We were all riding around on them. Really good scooters that fold up with a back brake 49€uros. Roller Skates were about 29€

New Childrens Playground Fuente Nueva San Pedro
The main park area the other side is really coming along and is looking great with the fencing up.
Cant wait for that to be finished...will make the area so much nicer.
New Roundabout - Ronda Road, San Pedro, Nueva Andalucia
Its so much better. Its the junction as you just come off the N340 to go onto the Ronda Road. Then you have the road to the left to go San Pedro and Road to the right to go to Nueva Andalucia.
Why they never did this before I dont know.
Also there is a new childrens park if you turn left there to San Pedro just after the new school. I think that area is called Fuente Nueva.
San Pedro Feria is going up, it was a nightmare around there today - so add time to your journey if going through or avoid it.

All sell around the recommended retail price.
Twist San Pedro - Hudson Jeans
She could see that I was quite small and said why dont you try this pair on. They were reduced as they were so small and the last pair. They happened to be Hudson Jeans, which being as fashionable as I am, have never heard of. But she said they fit amazingly. I have to say, they fitted amazingly.
Really nice dark blue, very thin jean so great for here in Spain. She has a lady to shorten which you have to pay for but 10€uros.
Theres some really nice bits in there. I dont like everything. Some things look quite old fashioned - but then its probably that fine line between oldfashion and really trendy. Shes got the cutest hairbands with beautiful flowers on, if you have short hair will look gorgeous.
Also some fab diamond bands that go around your head like a sweat band. They look great.
The tops feel really nice material, I tried one on and it was nice but it didnt look amazing and once again the lady serving was honest and said...its slightly too big.
Twist have a big selection of UGGS in too, Grey Uggs, Purple Uggs, High, Low, Cardigan...all sorts and I think they are at the recommended retail price.
There must be people that have Uggs in every colour.
Good shops, great for jeans, tops range anything from 20€ to 200€ its a real mix but I think thats good.
Complaints Book in Spain - Libro de Reclamaciones
All establishments, including flea markets, gas stations, bus companies ... (except for some special sectors) are required to have complaint forms. If the person responsible refuses to surrender to the consumer, it could request the assistance of local police, which would raise record the event. On the other hand, you can also fill out the complaint through the Customer Portal or any consumer agency, office of consumer information or consumer associations.
Im not an expert on Spanish Law, but am pretty sure that every single establishment must have a complaints book or in Spanish Libro de Reclamaciones.
Everyone tells me that if you ever have a problem, you only need to ask for this book and it will get sorted. As its taken very seriously that shops / restaurants would rather make you happy.
Today for the first time in 7 years I asked for a complaints book. The shop owner was not rude to start with or anything like that but I wasnt happy that I couldnt have a refund only only exchange. When its something cheap - ill do it. But when its 80€uros - this is a lot of money and I would like my money.
So for the first time ever I asked for the book to be told - she doesnt have it, but will get it - then I was very unclear whether she had one and it just wasnt in the shop. By the reaction I think she didnt have a clue what it was.
Even though I wasnt very happy with the service I did mention to her that every shop should have a complaints book - actually being helpful as if a one day they have some Spanish who knows the law inside out wanting a refund - they may find themselves in trouble. unfortunately she didnt see me as helping and became rather rude.
So if you know about Complaints Book or Libro de Reclamaciones and Consumer Rights please do leave a comment.
I have found this useful article about Making a Complaint in Spain
I have also found this Site about National Consumer Law in Spain
Also a great website I found out about today from http://www.womeninspain.com/ is http://www.costaadvicebureau.com/ like citizns advice in Spanish. You have to pay a yearly charge...but great idea.

So it seems Argos have joined the rest and also now delivering some items to spain.
www.argos-spain.co.uk
It says delivery is 9.95€ per order. So if you order alot may be worth it....or once you add delivery on, you may find that if you look around its not that bad here.
Kids Parties Pizza Express Puerto Banus
As we went in the tables were arranged and plates were out with ham, olives, cheese etc. My little girl - being a little piggywig ate it all. We then realised that it was the toppings for the pizzas they were going to make!!!
So all the kids sat down and were given an oven dish with a blob of tomato sauce on. The chef showed the kids what to do and they all put the toppings on.
They all seemed to have fun. But then the waitresses took all the oven dishes and put them in the oven - how on earth were kids to know which pizza is theirs. As the pizzas came out there was a little confusion...kids getting half way through their pizza then realising they didnt put olives on theirs!
Then the host hired an entertaining who did games and dancing in the corner. Then Piñata, Cake, Sweets etc.
It was quite good fun for the kids to make their own pizzas. I would definately say its for older kids 7 upwards as its quite open and kids like to run around outside. If parents leave their kids at the party its a lot of responsibility to keep track of all the kids as the doors are open.
We had a lovely afternoon there sitting outside whilst the kids played and most importantly the kids seem to enjoy themselves.
Not too sure how much it is per child, will try and find out.

The Jungle Book - Echegaray Theatre Malaga
Today was The Jungle Book. We went to the 1pm show. Its a really lovely theatre and all looks brand new. The seats, stage, entrance, toilets, all so clean.
The stage was set out and everyone took their seats. I think we were the only English People in the whole theatre - infact Im pretty sure we were.
We had seats Row 3, Seats 17, 16 & 15 which were the far end of the 3rd row from the front so really close to the stage.
The show started and it was really good. The music wasnt quite the same - obviously it was all in Spanish, but they had adapted it quite alot. The kids seemed to love it, especially when the tigers and monkeys came out into the audience to dance with all the kids. When they asked for some children to go up on stage, wow, Ive never seen so many outgoing kids.
It lasted about 1 hour 20 minutes and for 6€uros per person it was fantastic value - infact we wondered how it worked and think maybe its subsedised. There were only about 200-300 seats I think.
I did think it was going to be children actors, but it wasnt. It was grown men in leotards, prancing and dancing around...I think I might have to sit a little further back next time as I just kept getting the giggles. Ive also not been to such a small play like this before - so for me it was very much overacted.
But, will definately go again and for 6€uros its amazing value. The toll has also gone down to 3.75€ so its not so expensive to drive safely.
The restaurant just outside also have a really cheap menu for kids for 4.50€ if you have been to the theatre.
www.teatroechegaray.com for more information.
Direction for Teator Echegaray from Marbella - follow the same directions as to Teatro Cervantes from Marbella.
Park in the same place Car Park Alcazaba in Malaga. Walk down the road away from Gibralfaro and its down on the left - ask someone where Teatro Echegaray is - everyone knew.

Peggottys Cheaper Prices
Also half price childrens menu with every adult main course.
They also say that they are reducing take away prices too.
This is great as it was too expensive. To eat in is double the price, kids meals were coming to over 10€uros by the time you got a drink and ice cream. In UK and other places you can get kids menu for 5 pounds.
Takeaway Fish & Chips when I last went was 10€uros...ok it feeds me and my daughter but it still seems alot.
Anyway, great that they are doing this and Im sure I will be back there soon.

The Best Schools in Marbella
Not too sure why but the last week or so schools have come up once again in conversation. I think cause friends who have kids around the age of 9 and 10 have to start thinking of secondary school. And...when they start talking about changing from English to Spanish and or from Private to State, or even State to Private...well it gets you thinking.
EIC, English International College has come up in so many conversations lately - how fantastic, amazing, brilliant school. Im sure it is. They advertise all their students getting into to Oxford and Cambridge. But to be thinking of this when your child is 5 years old....its just ridiculous.
Also, Ive never known so many children at such a young age to be getting private education after school. They are at school from 9 till 4 and it cost anything from 6,000 to 15,000€uros a year ...surely this should be enough. Surely the school should be taking more responsibility over kids education - but then its great for the teachers that then go on to earn 45euros per hour after school.
Then on top of that all the extra curriculum activities, its not long before you are up to 1,000k per month for when they are 6 or 7 years old.
I have bad PMT at the moment so maybe take no notice of this post. But have to say, to have no choice about which school would be so much easier. For example, my daughters 2 cousins both went to their local school within their catchment areas.....so much easier.
So what are the Best Schools in Marbella?
Well I suggest you go see them for yourselves and see how you feel. Try to find ex pupils too - these are the best people to talk to.
Top Shop, Wallis, Dorothy Perkins Group Marbella
But I guess if you are looking for a job within this group or have any problems this is the place you could go to maybe.
I went there quickly today to get my mobile fixed and it looked really good. Lots of shop designers around photographing etc.
Also, reminder - I really recommend getting mobile phones from El Corte Ingles. My phone is under warranty until April and already had it fixed twice. They ordered a new microphone part about 2 weeks ago and Yes they called to say it was in and to bring my phone in.
Great Service by the Nokia Doctors.

Horse Riding in Marbella
But now I decided it would be nice for just me and her to have some time together so Im taking lessons to. OMG its really hard and also a little scary.
Im on a little horse but I still feel so high up. Today there were loads of flies around his face which I think was peeing him off a little as he just kept moving around in the wrong direction - well thats my excuse, not the fact that maybe I wasnt holding the reigns right.
It was very hot, I was wearing jeans to which were quite slippery, as I jumped up and on I nearly slid right off the other side.
But all in all good fun and lovely to do something together.
Im looking for cheap jodpurs and boots if anyone has! Or it will be a trip to decathlon.
Bull running around Marbella
It hurt 3 people including a woman who was in the bull ring and another in the street. All were transferred to Costa Del Sol Hospital.

Sol Bank Kids Bank Accounts
So after doing some work this morning I popped to Sol Bank Centro Plaza. There was a lovely Spanish Lady at the front desk - happy, smiley and accommodating. 43€uros we counted out all in change. Paid it all into my little girls bank account that she has there. Dont get much interest but least they dont charge you for anything.
Theres a new boutique opened up on the corner where the Expensive Gourmandises used to be. Lovely girl in there, has French and Italian Clothes. Mixture of prices...jeans from about 49€ upwards. Some gorgeous fur Waistcoats little more expensive at 250 but beautiful. Lovely Black and White Travel Cases at 49€ and jewellery.
Some really nice bits.

Rubén Sardiña El Aprendiz - The Apprentice in Spain
Spanish Sir Alan is a pretty good copy too. The Apprentices are all full of it just like the UK onces except I have to say they have alot more style and much more attractive.
Benjamin El Aprendiz is one of the quite full on ones - really pushy and loud but does talk somes ense...it was funny how he just started f´íng and blinding in English.
Tonight they had to choose a restaurant, make a theme, cook etc. The boys went for TexMex whilst the girls have gone for a Hawaiin. The girls have been much more organised so far.
The girls had to go out looking for customers for their restaurant, not much luck. The boys too and it wasnt very good. People werent happy with the food.
OMG, customers were drinking and walking out without paying saying "you invited me in". What a terrible night, both restaurants were empty most of the time.
Next day they enter with their cases all dolled up to see who is going to get fired. Same as uk, Spanish Sir Alan has his 2 sidekicks. Oooh Benjamin completely slagged off the leader of his team saying it was caotic and he was pathetic....terrible.
The boys had 800€ and came back with 507€. The girls also lost money....how bad is that! The girls won by loosing less that the boys! They made a 30% loss. Maybe I should go on this....I made more money at Coin Car Boot Sale.
So now to the greasy spoon cafe where they discuss between them who should be fired...Blimey Benjamin doesnt shut up. Poor Ruben the leader couldnt get a word in edgeways. Not a cup of tea in sight
Back in the board room where it was all discussed rather calmly. Ruben El Aprendiz chooses 2 people to come back in with him, Mario El Aprendiz & Benjamin El Aprendiz.
Oooh im sitting on the edge of my huge sofa...whose going to get fired, whose it going to be.
El Aprendiz to be fired is Rubén Sardiña!

Long Spanish Lunch
We started on Friday night at Picassos Pizzeria with their deal of 30% - excellent value now!
Then Saturday we were invited over to friends for lunch. Spanish lunches last all afternoon and continue in the evening. The weather was amazing - cant beleive its October! It was so hot the kids had a water fight in the garden.
Then Sunday (yesterday) it was our turn to entertain and our good friends came over with their kids and were here from about 12 till about 8pm. The kids just played - no arguments, whilst us grown-ups relaxed, eating, drinking and enjoying the sunshine.
Couldnt have asked for a better weekend....lovely

Zara Home Glasses
I bought some stunning blue ones, short tumbler with beautiful blue and gold design along with some blue plastic ones.
Out of 8 glasses I have 1 left. And the plastic ones...said you can put in dishwasher but you cant...they all have splits and leak.
I think I spent about 50€uros only in March - waste of money
Who are the children in our kids Schools in Marbella?
There are so many stories I have heard and whilst I take most of it with a pinch of salt, I cant help thinking of that old saying.... "theres no smoke without fire".
Ive heard alsorts about families - involved in mafia, drugs, been in prison blah blah blah.
But before my daughter started school, Id heard all the same about all the other schools in Marbella too.
If you are bothered about these sorts of things when choosing schools, drive by in the morning at drop off, drive by in the afternoon when collecting kids. Get a feel. For me, one school we passed one afternoon I think we saw 3 hummers - not saying hummers are bad - I love them but its a bit Beverley Hills 90210 for me. At our school I think theres just 1!
Listen but dont take everything in that people say, but I do think its important to know whose house your kids are going back to wherever you live.
Picassos Pizzeria Puerto Banus - New Years Eve
They have their fabulous offer of 30% off everything monday to friday if you eat between 4.30 and 7pm. Bit early for some, but for those of us with kids its perfect.
They also now have the facility to book a table at Picassos Puerto Banus online.
On top of that they are already very organised with their New Years Eve Menu of 119€ per person with entertainment by Cheryl Lucas. Great menu too. All can be found on their website.
Christmas & New Year in Marbella
This year we are staying here, we have some family coming over. Its all booked and great to be organised. But last year we went back to the UK last minute. Whilst we were going back, many people were coming, wanting to get away from all the hype and the big family doos.
The weather in Marbella at Christmas and New Year can be really nice and it can be awful. If you are thinking of staying in a hotel, remember that unless you book a suite you are confined to 1 room and if the weather is really awful you wont be going out much.
Apartments arent always as expensive as people think and can work out really cheap even between 2 couples or 2 families. Some 2 bed apartments are really and one thing we dont lack in Spain in Bathrooms - unlike the UK.
If you are looking for accommodation for Christmas and or New Year in Marbella have a look at www.lamaestranza.eu
We have availability in our stunning 1 bedroom apartment for Christmas & New Year and over New Year in our 2 Bedroom Apartment.
Dont forget to HIRE YOUR CAR as last year they ran out.

Kids On The Costa Magazine
Theres stuff to do when its hot, when its raining, inside, outside, up and down the coast. If you have a mum and toddler group or a shop or activity to do with kids, then I would definately recommend looking at featuring in this Mag.
Its a great magazine, I dont know who owns it or any of the people the work on it but I think they are doing a great job at getting it out every time.

The quality, the colours everything just looks amazing.
They ship too and the website is really easy. You can write your own text and upload your own photos so you are completely in control. Its brilliant

Free Satellite TV in Spain
So I thought Id look into it.
Tonight my husband looked at a number of website and in particular this one http://www.satellitetv-onpc.com/ ....it was 9.99 pounds for all time. So we thought we´d try it.
He downloaded it, went through all the instructions and we couldnt get any channels to work. Just a picture of a man with Chinese writing underneath and the option to chat...mmm no thanks! We were on it for 2 hours!
So, we paid on Pay Pal and the transaction went through.
I have now asked nicely for a refund....will I get it! I really hope I do and its not just another conn by someone here in Spain.
Lets see...
UPDATE - I got my refund back which I was very happy about. Now I have heard of people that have this and it works for them. But it didnt work for us. Could also be to do with where were are, signal and internet speed.

Vasari Villas - Nagueles
Anyway, I was walking my dog and accidently walked that way to have a little nose...omg the way people were dressed up to see this house was like it was some major event in the West End on a Saturday Night!
Me walking in my jeans, flips flops, baggy top, cross the body doggy bag couldnt look more out of place...but what fun.
Anyway, little me walked in - completely uninvited and asked for a brochure - they were a little hesitant, Id say, but they gave me one. I asked if its possible to look around the house and hesitantly said yes with my dog in my arms.
I looked like a tramp compared to everyone else in this house but and had a little giggle thinking about Julia Roberts when she walks in that shop and says "Big Mistake, Huge Mistake" obviously one major difference is that I dont have 2.5 million to buy it.
But the house is lovely, on the level that you walk in is kitchen, diner, hallway, bedroom, bathroom.
3 More bedrooms upstairs, all beautifully fitted with gorgeous bathrooms.
Then downstairs in the basements is a huge garage, 2 further rooms all tiled bathroom and a further bedroom and bathroom. Very nice garden area and pool too.
All for only 2.5 million€uros negotiable they said.
Well that was an eventful morning.
