IBI Bills In Spain

Having received numerous bills with added interest from the IBI Bills (like Council Tax in UK) I have decided to do the following.

Many  problems come because there are not sufficient funds in your account.

So....In May top up your account where all your bills exit from.   Our IBI Bills are normally about 900€ so I will add in May an extra 1k.  There are 4 bills.  2 for Rubbish, 1 for your building and 1 for your garage.

Then when you receive your bank statements stating it has been paid attach this to the original IBI bill and file it.

KEEP every single bit of paper / payment here....you really willl need it as prove one day.

I was really peed off this morning receiving yet another bill with interest, but having gone through my accounts I see it was taken but the returned to the account as there were not sufficient funds...however they didnt try 3 times as said.

So if you take my advice and top up your account in May for the Summer IBI Bills you shouldnt have any problems and remember to keep all Paperwork.
