Parking for AVE Malaga

Does anyone know the cheapest place to park near the AVE in Malaga Maria Zambrano?

Putting dog in Kennels in Marbella

Soon I will have to put my dog into a kennel for a couple of days for the first time. When I rang and spoke to the kennel they said he needs the kennel cough vaccination and it must be the KC Novibac!

So if you are thinking of going away last minute at any time and havent given your dog a kennel cough vaccination - maybe get one.

Also they asked for dogs to be dewormed and defleed.

I got the Novibac Vaccination done yesterday in Marbella at Medivet - it was 28€uros.

This morning I passed by Pointers and picked up worming tablets as I forgot them yesterday and they were 5€uros.

Another typical story about the Costa Del Sol - 10 million Euros has been found in Andorra in Bank Accounts belonging to....

Ford Servicing Marbella

Finally Home! Every so often mainly when my car is in for a service I have to get on the bus. This morning I got to the main road, saw a bus and sprinted as fast as I could....but it was the wrong bus.

The next one came along dead on time - wow this is a first ever, so I thought... A journey which should normally take about 15 minutes took about 1 hour...the traffic was a nightmare in Marbella and there were lots of Police and Guardia Civil Vans around. It was a complete deadlock for about 10 minutes.

Everyone had their horns going, even the bus driver started hurling abuse at people. Then all the old ladies on the bus start shouting too, making hand jestures through the window.

Finally we get through all the traffic and then the bus starts to turn left - Ive got on the wrong bus again so I walked, but it was a pleasure to walk in this glorious weather today - finally!

Then finally get to the garage and was rather happy when my bill was just 144€. As ive mentioned before, except for 1 bad experience with Ford, in 7 years they have been great to deal with and servicing and parts are not that expensive.

Then on the way home before La Cañada saw a car on the other side that had crashed into the barrier and pretty sure that the front side was hanging over the edge - which was a bit of a drop. Hope noone was hurt.

The Smile Clinic - Nueva Andaluica

There is Another Dentist now opening in Nueva Andalucia. Its just down the road from Centro Plaza on the left hand side where the Gardening Office used to be.

Not too sure if its the Smile Clinic that has moved from Centro Plaza itself. Will try and find out more, but if you know do email in.

De Lujo Restaurant Centro Plaza

Another restaurant has opened up in Centro Plaza called De Lujo. Looks like a Sea Food type Place....personally not for me...dont do sea food.

Always a few people in there when I have passed by.

Hopefully will find someone who has eaten there soon to give either the thumbs up or down.

Road Works Still Around Nueva Andalucia

Just to remind take care when driving around Nueva Andalucia & Aloha Area. Lots of road works still going on where Natural Gas is being installed.

Hello Kitty Shop Marbella - Hello Kitty Shop Malaga

On Saturday we went to Malaga for the day as soon we take a trip to Madrid. We wanted to see where we are going to park etc.

The Maria Zambrano Centre is where the Train Station is and there is also a shopping centre there too.

Just across the road from that is the Larios Centre full of shops & restaurants too. Its got a Dunnes Store in there and close by is a gorgeous Hello Kitty Shop.

So if you are looking for a special present with Hello Kitty then you have to go here! Stunning, gorgeous things.

Disney Shop Malaga - Disney Shop Larios Centre

If you are looking for a Disney Shop on the Costa Del Sol then you need to go to Larios Centre in Malaga near Maria Zambrano.

Its got the Disney Shop there with all the fabulous toys & dressing up outfits you would expect.

Its not cheap - once again the euro / pound conversion rate is pretty high, but if you are looking for something a little different then sometimes you have to pay that little extra.

Would my life be different if I go back to the UK?

Every so often me & my husband have discussions of whether or not we should go back to the UK.

Its only been the past year where Ive been feeling that maybe we would be better off there. Sometimes I find myself a bit bored here - but then he says..."Jo, what are you going to do back in the UK"? And he is right! What am I going to do?

Im not trained in anything particular, Ive always worked and a very good worker at that too but take this morning for instance. Yesterday I suddenly came over unwell, fluey and sicky, this morning and today Im not much better....ok to work a bit from home but if I had to go to an office- I couldnt.

Then my husband said "Imagine if you had a job Jo, where you´d have to phone in Sick". So once again he is right...what would I do back in the UK thats so different to what I do here?

When you are pregnant and have a baby you do go a bit brain dead...your whole life revolves around this little bundle of joy. My little bundle of joy now happens to be 6 years old, but if shes ill and needs to be kept of School - Im there for her.

So for the moment, Ive realised that I may get a little bored here, I miss having my old friends around and family but in reality I see more of them when they are here for a week or 2 solid than if we were in the UK - but things could be soooo much worse.

Make decisions with a clear head - thats what I need to remember.

La Moraga - Put my faith back into Spanish Food

La Moraga in Puerto Banus has really put my faith back into Spanish food. Now I stopped eating tapas for probably near 4 years....simply because I suffered bad food poisoning after eating in 2 restaurants.

But after eating in La Moraga - which is tapas - actually some of the food is really good. Then on 3 kings night we went to Pinxto in Marbella and the food that was being brough around was amazing.

Then one day we popped into Messina in Puerto Banus when we couldnt get into La Moraga and it was also very good.

On Saturday Night we went to Matahambre in Marbella and the Tapas in there was SUPERB!

Now, I still couldnt eat cold tapas that has been sitting on the shelves all day - this I wont touch. But hot freshly cooked tapas is back on my menu.

Matahambre Marbella

So after feeling like I wasted 100€uros on my Meal at Beckitts on Friday - we´ve decided we are not going to these types of Restaurants anymore.

We had heard about this really busy tapas bar a few doors away from Beckitts that do Indian & Chinese Flavours rather than just Spanish.

It didnt open until 8pm and we were the first people in there.

We had...

A plate full of samosas - very good - just didnt like the mint sauce that it came with.
A plate full of Chicken Tikka - probably the best tikka I have had.
A plate full of Patatas Bravas.
Small Chicken Kebab
Small Lamb Kebab - absolutely delicious - even better I might say than La Moraga!!!
A small pancake with tomato & bacon
An absolutely delicious chocolate brownie with ice cream
2 bottles of water
2 beers.

im sure there was something else and cant remember...

The bill for 3 of us that were completely full at the end was....32€ Thank you very much - very nice food and tasted even better when we got the bill.

The menu comes in English & Spanish. Choose a couple of things, eat and then order more.

Beckitts Marbella Restaurant

Was going out with friends on Friday Night and we couldnt decide where to go. I was even thinking about a restaurant called Skina in Marbella that has a Michellin Star but it looked a bit expensive. Starters around 25€ and main course at 30€

In the end I let my friend choose and she chose Beckitts. We went there once in 2006 from looking at my blog. It was good food. Expensive but then with the euro at 1.5 to the pound...it wasnt as expensive as it was on Friday Night!

Straight away the husband said....thats not a good sign the owners not being there! Anyway we sat down, it was very very hot in there - almost uncomfortable.

For starters I had a Puff Pastry Tomato & Mozzerella Pie - Pastry wasnt very puffy infact hard and inside was uncooked. My husband had the mixed mushrooms which were nice.

Our Friend had the Tempura Prawns which werent very good, the batter was all slimy and he had to complain.

For mainers I had a steak on the tiniest bit of mash potato....it was ok, nothing spectacular and had much tastier. Then once again our friends had to complain about the tempura fish - the batter wasnt very nice at all.

For dessert we had the Banoffee Pie - it was ok - nothing major.

So 4 people, 4 starters, 4 main courses, 2 deserts, water & 7 drinks - 190€uros!!! and that was without paying for 1 main course. Never again.

The steaks were 26.50€. 26.50€ where the hell do these prices come from? 4 €uros more and I could have had a starter at a Michellin Star Restaurant.

I dont really care what famous people go there, its a restaurant in a Marbella Street - not front line with the most amazing views. NEVER EVER AGAIN!

Its not just Beckitts, many of the restaurants in Nueva Andalucia going towards Aloha charge ridiculous money - rip off.

Armed Robbery Open Cor Nueva Andalucia

There was an Armed Robbery in Open Cor the other day in which area do you think?

Yes Nueva Andalucia!

Its funny that their names have been mentioned but Daniel Rushton & Matthew Daly both 25 years old, held up the staff at Open Cor in Nueva Andalucia with a gun and then returned 2 days later.

No point me re-writing this just read directly here on the Daily Mail Online

Moving to Spain - I want the Spanish Life

So, you are living in the UK, you are fed up with the weather, fed up with all the hustle and bustle of general living, fed up with the cost of living and wish you could change your life completely, be someone else....

What you dream of is to live in "The Real Spain" a house in the middle of nowhere where you can grow you own vegetables, lie on the hammock with the chickens and horses running around you, or in a little Spanish Pueblo, where you dream of mixing with the locals and thinking it will take a couple of months to become bilingual, you are going to have this amazing Spanish Life in Spain....

WRONG!!!

Im sorry to shatter your illussions, but this may have worked for the odd person but in real life it not reality. Many a time we have heard that so many relationships breakdown after being together years. Living in an house on your own - IS LONELY! You know noone here so who you going to say hello to everyday? You are the newcomers, the new English, the foreigners to meet people you have to go to the nearest village and you think they are all going to accept you with open arms?

Or you live in a tight nit community in a very Spanish Block of apartments - say you have kids. Even if you want to send your kids to a private school - you cant! Living in a Small Spanish Area your children have to go where all the other children go to...otherwise they will be alienated even more so than just being the new foreign kid. .

People have this thing about living on the Costa Del Sol - bit like people that dont like things that are "Too Commercial"....Costa Del Sol is a great place when the sun is out and very International - not just English. Living on an Urbanisation may not be what you want but you actually get used to it and if you have kids - it can be great.

I know so many people who have had to move down from a Big Mansions to a townhouse and after seeing their kids have such a great time in the summer - they now wonder what were they doing in a huge house on its own.

I know someone who once also wanted this fab life in Spain, rented a beautiful finca had dreams of learning to speak spanish, eat spanish food, grow their own crops....they couldnt get work, they couldnt speak the language and ended up driving each other mad and splitting up after many years.

At the moment, personally I wouldnt recommend anyone to move here unless you DO NOT have to work. Unemployment is high, moral is low and its just not good times at the moment. But when and if you do, changing your life completely from the UK to Spain isnt always a good idea. Come, live in an area have a life - similar to yours back home and gently move to the Countryside if thats what you really want to do. Its funny you can make freinds here on your urbansations then once they move even 30 minutes away you dont see them. If thats what it is like on the Coast, imagine living in the middle of nowhere.

I know another couple who lived in the Campo, we never really saw them, they then moved down to the coast and couldnt believe how much they enjoyed it - what were they doing up in the Campo?

If you are someone that has these dreams about living in real Spain with only Spanish TV, and mixing with Spanish....unless you were brought up here - you will never truely be part of it.

Ive finally accepting how my life is- I have a great mixture of friends who are English, Irish, Swedish, Spanish, Belgium, Swiss, German. Ive given up on trying to Integrate - the way I thought Integration was meant to be.

I have my version of Integration...my daughter may go to an International School but most of the kids there are Spanish, in the Summer the kids stay up late and we take siesta most days, we do the occassional tapas, we go to Celebrate 3 Kings, we often have dinner round our Spanish friends Houses and I continue to do my best learning and speaking Spanish. Thats it, Im living my life with a real mixture of friends and Nationalities - that I know I wouldnt have met having stayed in the UK.

Choosing the right area to live in Spain is so important. Make the wrong decission straight away - it will put you off Spain for life. Speak to people with the same tastes as you, rent for a month or so here & there...but dont rush in to your Spanish Dream - it can soon become your Spanish nightmare.

Marbella Holiday Reviews - Reviews Marbella Holiday Apartments

Reviews Reviews Reviews - Do you use them?

I do, infact Ive become rather besotted with reading reviews. Sometimes, they´re not so good to read, especially when you have set your heart on buying something, whether its buying a handbag, a piece of jewellery, a car or even booking a Holiday Apartment.

Just the other day I bought a game for my neice on Amazon, purely on the reviews....I had no idea what I was buying, but the reviews were that good that they actually sold the product to me.

Then on the other hand there have been gadgets that I have really wanted to buy for Christmas or Birthday for my husband and the reviews were so dreadful I couldn’t bring myself to buy them.

Personally, I think reviews are the key to selling a product regardless of what it is, which is why I ask all couples & families that have stayed in our Marbella Holiday Apartments for a their Review of Marbella Holiday.

Its so important to know what people want and keep up to date with what other apartments have. Sometimes when booking a holiday apartment you may choose something slightly more expensive because it has a Flat Screen TV or Full Movie Sky Box but do people really want all this when going on holiday? Isn´t this what people are trying to get a away from? Do people really want to be able to check emails everyday and be bogged down with problems as if they are still in the UK working?

The majority of people that I speak to want something that’s clean, a good location and if they are bringing kids, to know it’s a good safe place for them.

Its important to me that people feel they can write a review of what they really feel and be honest and luckily enough, most of the reviews on our Marbella Holiday Reviews book have been very positive.

When reading reviews on Marbella Holiday Apartments - its important to get a real aspect of where the apartment is within Marbella as Marbella is a large area and many people say their apartments are in Marbella when actually its in Estepona or Calahonda - this is misleading.

Marbella is a town and also an area that streaches from San Pedro to Elviria. Puerto Banus is in the Area of Marbella, Nueva Andalucia is in the area of Marbella. Estepona is not in Marbella.

From our Holiday Apartments in Nueva Andalucia I say the walk is between 10 and 15 minutes. Some people may say that actually the walk into Puerto Banus is more 30 minutes than the 15minutes that I have said...except they forget to mention they are 75 years old with walking sticks and or pushing a double buggy up a hill in August midday when its over 100degress. So you do need to be a little flexible and open when reading all reviews and take all of them on board.

Reviews are what everyday people like yourselves write without having an agenda which is why they are so important to read.

You can read our Marbella Holiday Reviews here.

For me the most important things are location...can you really walk to shops / restaurants and beach, safety for kids and if the apartment was clean.

Estate Agents on the Costa Del Sol

If you are looking for a good Estate Agent on the Costa del Sol, well you may be disspointed. There arent many good ones around.

I find it such a shame that I get so many emails about people looking to buy and rent that these estate agents could probably really do with the leads, especially in times like these - but Im reluctant to pass them on to these big companies. There are 2 in particular along the coast that I would NOT trust with a bargepole.

The main reason is that if they are prepared to rip off someones website - what or who else are they prepared to rip off?

When you are in the world of the web, taking someones content and not giving any direct links back is rather a crappy thing to do....and it takes a certain type of person to do this. Especially when you have copied practically a whole website and funniest still...when you leave original links in.

Would you want do deal with this type of person when buying or selling a house?

However, I have met someone who works for 1 very reputable company in Marbella in Sales & Rentals and high end Holiday Rentals that at the moment I am happy to pass leads too so if you are looking to buy or sell or rent email me.

Winter in Marbella 2010

This has been a very very long and bad winter. Every year, people say...oh this year is the worst we have had but I genuinly think this year is the worst in our 7 years here.

We´ve just driven to Estepona & back and seen water gushing down the mountains onto the roads, wild rivers that were never there and so many houses where their garden walls have fallen down. Driving around Nueva Andalucia & Las Brisas, theres so many problems.

I only said to my husband this morning, I was shocked that our house hasnt had any more leaks and Ive just seen that we have damp patches on our ceilings and walls again.

I was just called to our apartment we rent for holiday and water is come in by the light fixing and is now dripping.

Its bad...and suppose to carry on although the sun has just popped out!

ITV Spain - Spanish MOT

This morning we had to go to Estepona to do our ITV on our "Old Banger" as its known.

I booked the appointment last week over the phone 902575757 for 10.15am this morning. We got there about 10ish.

Its on the Poligono at Estepona...There Manilva autos and its the next right.

Go straight in and hand over all your paperwork to the office. They then tell you to wait in there or by your car. Then you listen for your number plate to be called....so learn you numbers and letters in Spanish!!!

We were called and I dont know why but I always get the giggles when we go for the ITV. We only use these Spanish words once a year so we never remember them...and the guys speak rather quickly and my husbands arms and legs are flying all over the place...very funny when you are sitting next to him.

Anyway, somehow we manage and the guys are very funny.

How anyone goes without knowing a word of Spanish I dont know. Because whilst we were waiting for the results, there was an old couple in their car who were English and the guy was shouting FRENO FRENO (brake) and they just didnt have a clue. The car was going back and forth the people were flying their hands in the air and the guy that works there I think just had enough, although he did manage to see the funny side of it.

Anyway, got the all clear and next ITV in 2 Years.

Dog Killing Stations in Spain - Anbad Marbella

A few weeks ago I was listening to the Radio and this woman was talking about Dog Killing Stations.

It was really awful to hear as its one of these things we just dont know about or hear about here. What I found even more worrying is they continue to kill the dogs even if they have a microchip.

This is Anbad...

We are a registered animal charity based in the Costa del Sol. Our prime objective is to save the animals we consider as being the most severely mistreated, from the Killing Station (Los Barrios). If we could rescue 15 dogs every month from the Killing Station at Los Barrios, we together with ACE (Mijas), could stop them killing the dogs. They even don’t feed the dogs, because after 21 days they kill them anyway.

It takes an enormous amount of courage and commitment to take on such a task. Our small team of volunteers work tirelessly seven days a week, including the holiday periods, to save the lives of as many dogs as possible. ANBAD’s premises are presently located on privately owned land in Marbella which only has a limited capacity to accommodate an absolute maximum of 20 dogs.

In common with all other animal charities there are the additional problems such as lack of a voluntary workforce and limited funding (we rely on your help). However, we do consider ourselves extremely lucky with the few dedicated volunteers we have; they are a great team who work together closely to help the ANBAD doggy residents before they move on to a better life. Many of the dogs are found fabulous homes overseas. We are working together with other Animal organisations in Germany and Finland, so you can be certain that our Animals get a good home.

We need any help that you can give, for food and medicine, because without this they cannot survive, even if we save them from being killed.

Ice Skating Benalmadena

On Saturday the weather wasnt very nice but I needed to get out of the house. So we thought we´d try and find this Ice Skating Rink in Benalmadena.

Thank goodness for Sat Nav as its a pretty tricky place to find right in Benalmadena.

Theres parking directly underneath which is great.

Then went upstairs to buy tickets. Now on the website it said Ice Skating on Saturdays 12.30 to 2.30.

We got there about 12.55 and was queing to get our tickets until 1.15pm. There was one girl on reception taking phonecalls, dealing with people that want to go to the gym, swimming & ice skating and also had to take money for peoples parking tickets...so this didnt go down too well with me.

But I calmed down thought Ok we still have 1 hour 15 minutes to skate.

Got our skates and was pleased that my little girl was given a helmet to wear. We finally got on the ice about 1.30. Ice rink wasnt huge but it wasnt packed with people either. My little girl I thought was very good considering it was her first time.

There was a little cafe there where my husband sat had a coffee then came out to watch us. About 2pm we thought we take a drink for 10 minutes and then go back on the ice.

Well finished our drinks, my little girl was all excited and....they closed the Ice Rink at 2.15pm. As you can imagine we wasnt very happy.

Skating for both of us was about 9€uros I think including the skates & helmet. Parking about 80cents an hour.

Heres the website for Ice Skating in Benalmadena http://www.clubdehielobenalmadena.com

Dog Bed from Dunnes

Has anyone else had this problem?

I popped into Dunnes on Saturday to get a Super Kingsize Duvet Cover which they didnt have. Anyway did see dog beds for 8 & 10€uros. We always schlapp his bed up and down stairs so thought it be easier to have 2.

Anyway, brought it home and he went on it with a bit of bribing with some treats...but then....

He started going mental on it and scratching it like mad as ive something was inside it. Honestly never seen him like this before. Only bought it on Saturday and its already nearly ruined by his consistent digging and scratching of it.

Anyone else had this problem?

What Kids Learn at 6 Years Old in International School

I just saw an advert for a programme to be shown next week about school in UK and why kids cant add up age 11...not because they are stupid but because they are not being taught.

Tonight, my little girl age 6 said to me..."mummy...do you know what fiction and non fiction are". I was rather taken back as if Im honest I can get them a little muddled up. I dont think I even heard those words until I was about 16!!!

But she insisted on telling me...that story books are fiction and books like her dictionary and encyclopedias are non fiction. I was shocked. Shocked that she knew it and shocked that teachers are even teaching such things.

Tonight she also brought homework home to do with IPC where she chooses and animal and has to draw a picture and write about it, getting information from books and or internet. She seems so young to be doing such things - but we sat and did it together and she really enjoys learning.

At 6 years old now, shes adding, doubling, can count in 2´s, & 10s up to 100. Shes reading practically anything and everything in English & Spanish and now learning many new words in French.

Im not a pushy mum, in fact my daughter is probably one of the few kids that does come home and watch TV after school - and why not? Shes been there since 8.55am.

Im not writing this to boast or to tell you all how clever I think my daughter is, but to give you an idea what kids age 6 are doing in International Schools in Spain. Whats funny is in the German School here, kids arent even being taught to read or write...they just play. In Sweden they are only just starting school. In England - Im not too sure but seeing this programme advertised made me think what kids are learning in all the different schools and countries and is it right they learn so much so young?

If you have kids in other Schools along the coast Private or State, English or Spanish so email in or leave comments. Its useful for parents to know especially when choosing schools in Spain.

Lump at the back of the throat through the middle bit

Ive been feeling a little nauseas the past few days and thought it was because Ive eaten too much but not drank enough water. It feels like a constant lump in my throat and have the feeling of wanting to be sick.

But have looked and seen that i have a bit of lump at the back in the hole bit (got no tonsils). I think this is whats making me feel sick.

Ive had lots of allergy since the sun has been out sneezing, itchy ears but is this anything to do with it?

ive searched google and found a few things but wondered if any throat doctors read this blog!

Help...really dont want to go doctors.

Costa Jardin Vivero SL Cancelada

Popped into the garden centre the other day as I was at Kidz Kingdom. Its just by the Petrol Station there.

Much bigger than it looks and some really nice bits in there. The boss speaks English too which is always a bonus and a reason to go somewhere if you are not too sure on what you are buying.

I bought some really nice basil plants just 95 cents and some seeds so my little girl can start her own little garden area.

Any help would be good for us

ps its good to have a heads up on the stuff you have here well done you are helping many people

Hi

Thank you for your email. Honestly, its really really tough here at the moment to earn good money. If you just need a little bit to get you buy obviously, theres are odd jobs you can do. But Career wise...theres just not much here. Many people do travel to Gibraltar to work everyday as there you can get "City" type jobs.

There are some recruitment agencies around - although had people very disspointed saying the jobs were really there.

Theres always ways to earn little bits of money...english teaching, looking after peoples properties whilst they are away etc. Keep an eye on the blog, there maybe some jobs come up....just added one which is looking for sales staff but awful hours.

Good luck

Patagonia or Patagonica Restaurant Marbella & La Linea

For a number of weeks, we have heard people talking about a restaurant called Patagonia in Marbella. Its tapas and meat and everyone says its very good.

So we went there Saturday Night, but the restaurant is called Patagonica not Patagonia. Its suppose to be the exact restaurant to the one in La Linea which is supposed to be fantastic.

Anyway we went and whilst it was what I was expecting, others expected a really smart restaurant with all sit down tables so a little dissappointed which I completely understood.

This was a small restaurant, beautifully designed, dark with red walls, but only a few sit down tables and then tall bars & stalls - great for eating tapas but not a large steak.

Ordering was a little strange as they didnt really have much on the menu...mainly steaks, not many starters or anything to pick at.

We had bread and aubergines (aubergines, some loved some hated)...very acquired taste. Most of us ordered Solomillo, but then the waitress said she was 1 short, so my other half took anther type of steak. One solomillo came alot smaller than expected, mine half came ok, the other half rather too rare for me and had to go back....but it was good.

The steaks just came with a jacket potato...that was ok...mine are better.

Whilst this may sound like a disaster....I thought the atmosphere, decor and staff were really nice. I loved seeing the food being cooked on the open grill too.

We had a couple of starters, a main course each (solomillo 20€) and a couple of desserts (only 1 to choose from) and lots of drink including not cheap wine and it worked out 70€ per couple.

And to finish off, after sitting on stools for a number of hours we all left there with a rather saw backside...but I will go back!

But now, apparently this is not the real "Patagonia" restaurant as there is in La Linea which is suppose to be amazing....

This restaurant is in Calle Acera near Terrasana in the Old Town...so if anyone else can enlighten me about these restaurants that would be great...leave a comment.

Looking for Good Sales People in Marbella

After my newsletter I was contact by Claire Bairstow who is looking for good sales people. I am told its a proper job the only draw back is its unsocialable hours....but its a job!

If you enquire please mention that you saw this on www.nuevaandalucia.blogspot.com

Hi Jo,

The job is very real and is NOT A SCAM. We are working for an American company who provide " debt settlement services ". It is something we are unaware of here in Europe but in America the banks and credit agencies are wiling to settle defaulted debts at between 25 and 55 cents in the dollar.

This is something an average American would be unable to do on his or her own as the banks only settle in bulk. Our company provides legal services and debt arbitrators who negotiate the debt down and the client pays an equal amount each month with no interest into a secure trust account.

My partner is an American so we work from here purely as a lifestyle choice as I have been here for the past 10 years. It is essentially a commission only job as you should start dealing in month one and you get paid the following month so no pipeline.

I would however be happy to pay upfront against future commissions if people are struggling. I have girls who earn $3500 per month and some people on as little as $300 per month. The hours wouldn't suit every one and we have had quite a few problems recruiting the right people. There is an option to work from home but that would be after initial training.

The main qualities i need are positivity, adaptability some proven track record in sales this is not any easy job but very rewarding for good sales people. Its very interesting it gives you a unique insight in to the USA we are talking to people from all walks of life also you get an education in to the Financial system in the USA. I am particularly interested in Americans I also like Spanish Polish and Russian speakers. This is also a recession proof business and as millions of Americans are in debt and only paying minimum payments there is no sign of any slow down in our industry.

We pay spanish social security and we are a Spanish registered company. We earn in $ but get paid her in Euros.

The hours are Monday to Thursday 8pm to 3am and Friday 6pm to 12pm.You can check out the website www.automateddebt.com My company email address is c.bairstow@pleasereducemydebt.com - mentioning Nueva Andalucia Life.

Hope this helps

Kind Regards

Claire

How to sell Apartments in Marbella

Hello,
I am writing from Hungary. We have an apartment in Marbella, 10 minutes from the beach. It is 161 m2 large and very comfortable. We have been trying to sell it for 2 years, and it seems no one is interested. Can you give me any advices how to sell an apartment in Marbella?
Yours sincerely,Sophie

Hi Sophie

Personally I would print some leaflets with photos, short details and PRICE.

Put through every letterbox in the apartment block and local shops and places. Start here.

Many families like to buy close to one another so there may be someone in your block looking for another apartment for a daughter or son.

Make sure the price is a good price...someone will always buy at a good price.

Regards Joanne

Public Swimming Pool Marbella

There is a public swimming pool in Marbella. I popped in the other day but there was noone there to speak to as there was a school gala going on.

But if you are looking for it, from the Single Home Building before the car garages in Marbella, you need to take the road on opposite up into Marbella and take the road bearing round to the left. This is where the Feria normally is.

Continue up the road and its on the left hand side.

Habitat Sale La Cañada

Habitat in La Cañada have gone mad.

I have had an addiction to Habitat as they reduced things to such stupid prices I was buying things even though I didnt need them.

Shower Curtains were 2.33€ so I bought 5. Sets of Egyptian Cotton Duvet and Pillow Case 4.05€ so I bought 4.

One day I asked if a picture I like was reduced any more. Already from 129€ to 69€....the girl said yes 15€ so I bought 3 that were left.

I saw a clock one day that was 30€ and because of my addiction I popped in there again a couple of days later and saw it had 8€ on it...bought it.

Cushion once 44€ to 5€.

One day I bought so much stuff I had to run and get a trolley and push it all the other side to La Cañada...it was so full up I couldnt see where I was going.

Then my friend walked in my house yesterday and went mental for these 2 pictures I have on my wall (habitat 15€) I said Habitat...she said NO Way! I havent seen them....no I said - because I bought them all. It seems Im not the only mad one around...she has spent hour and hours and lots of money between Habitat and Zara over the last few days buying and buying loads of stuff that was just so cheap. We then laughed as we both had a stackful of receipts all with Habitat at the top...I think sadly I was the winner that had a few more.

Oh I forgot a lamp that was once 60€ I got for 6.50€ I dont even need it but its sitting downstairs without a shade on.

Ive never seen such reductions...I wonder if its closing down!

Im itching to go there again and see what else is reduced....its an addiction!

Theres a big ball park play area, with a huge floor space with all toys and bikes etc. Then all the tables where all the kids eat for the Birthday Parties.

As you enter to the left theres a cafe for the adults, which has a big large window going across so you dont here all the noise.

It was really good actually and my daughter had a great time.

Direct Line Car Insurance - Linea Directa Seguro de Coche Marbella

I received the renewal today for my Car Insurance...only gone up by about 15€uros since last year and we had a claim. To be honest I didnt think it was too bad, but I still like to try and neg a little bit more off the price.

So I called another company who had better terms but couldnt beat the price. I called Linea Direct and asked them to check the details and see if they could get the price down.

By changing a few things...i.e use of car as me and my husband have swapped, number of miles etc it really changes the price....all legal changes!!!

It went from 491€ to 413€ and if I paid in once go!

Linea Direct also have a new policy extra where if you dont speak Spanish they will sort out all your "Fines" from the police for you. As the police are really cracking down and fining people for as many things as possible. Thought this was a good idea.
