Camelot Park in the car park of La Cañada next to the Pet Shop is now open.  I eat my words and actually they have done a really good job at making it nice a light in there and actually once in you dont really know you are in a car park.

Cant remember the prices but about 8€ for 2 hours play.  Theres a cafe, big ball park, small ball park for younger kids.

Birthday Parties were quite good value at just 10 or 12€ per child with minimum of 10 kids.

UPDATE
Went to a kids birthday party there the other day and it was quite good.  Its much lighter than I thought it was going to be.  Lots of space for the kids to play and the tables and chair where the parents sit is a little bit away from the kids so you dont get all the screaming etc.

Food ... well the same as everywhere else really which is what kids want to eat...pizza, crisps, yogurt, chips etc.    The only small cock up was that the kids had been playing for quite a while before eating and then went back to play.  They then had to wait for the tables to be cleared by the other ¨parties before doing the "Cake".  So you probably need to say...lets to all the food and cake together...if you want it this way.

The staff were pretty good in there too.

Kids had a good time which is the most important thing.

Kampai Restaurant Estepona - Kampai Marbella

Some friends of mine have asked me to write about a restaurant they went to...simply because they thought it was so good they want everyone to know about it so it stays open.

Its called Kampai and its near Las Dunas Hotel where Livingstone Estates is going towards Estepona on the N340.

Here is some text about Kampai I have found on the internet

"The newly opened restaurant Kampai, next to the Las Dunas hotel is a cozy and manageable restaurant, where a creative international cuisine is presented with an Asian touch, the absolute strength of the chef and manager Ewald Fichthaler, which also include a number of years has worked successfully in Singapore and Shanghai. A highly trained kitchen and service team supports the chef to the guests to present not only an excellent food, but to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

The restaurant is open daily, except Mondays, open from 13.00 bis 16.00 and from 19.30 to 22.30 clock clock. Reservations at tel 952896 495"

Mas Que Pizza Review

The other night whilst driving around Marbella, seeing it full of people and thinking....we are so lucky to live here (yes at the moment I like Marbella) there was one restaurant that really stood out for me and said, right we are going there tomorrow.

We drove down the road that runs parallel with the sea where the Social Security Offices are and Clerico Restaurant. There was this really cute little restaurant beautifully lit and jammed packed.

Last night we went there and were one of the first people at about 8pm (early for us this summer) but slowly it got busier and busier.

The staff were lovely, the atmophere was great, the staff were proud of their food and their restaurant. We ordered Proveleta for starter which was delicious. Then 2 pizzas for 3 of us - which were delicious. The bases were cooked properly unlike many other places that get it so wrong. Smothered in toppings - almost too much actually. But it was fresh and you could tell.

Then we had a chocolate brownie - also delicious, huge bottle of water, 2 beers and the bill was....

32.50€!

I dont know the last time I went to a restaurant, loved the atmosphere, staff, food and left feeling full for under 50€

If you go let me know what you think. All the other food looked great and cant wait to go back and try the steak.

Open for lunch and dinner. Dinner was from 7.30pm

Stolen Cats & Dogs in Marbella

Yesterday I came across 2 of probably the most awful people I have ever come across since living here.

A cat that we have been looking after went missing. We have looked after her a number of times. Shes a beautiful cat and you know that she has been looked after.

After days and nights of searching and not sleeping the owner finally called me yesterday to say "the cat is fine, a lady took her to the vet as she wasnt eating". I was to go to the vets that moment to collect her.

We couldnt beleive it, how wonderful that there are such good people out there......yeah right!!!

Got to the vet....cat not there. They were all abit bemused as this woman wouldnt leave the cat even though she knew I was going to collect her.

I had spoke to the owner who said this woman was a little strange on the phone. The was begging her to keep the cat as she is old and lonely and loves the cat.

The woman was then to come to my house to bring the cat....did she bring it...no. Was she old and lonely...no.

Her and her partner watched my daughter ball her eyes, crying, screaming "please bring me back our cat" and they didnt flinch. This is not normal behaviour.

They came for the food as the cat wasnt eating what they were giving her. They were 2 of the most awful people I have ever come across. And if they really truely love the cat they would give it back to its rightful owner...yes? - for free?

Well lets see in a few weeks....I feel a ransom coming on.

Petty, Stupid, Bullyish Behaviour from Spanish Family

Think of the worst word you could possibly call someone, for me its the "c" word and this is the whole family that we sat near tonight.

Tonight we witnessed a side of the Spanish that we really dislike...the bullying side, the Im better than you attitude, the superior side, the "this is my country" side....it was ugly.

Spanish family sitting next to us and also on the lower steps with their feet out and bags everywhere trying to reserve all the places. They probably had taken up about 20 spaces saying "es reservado" to everyone that went by....mainly to the English.

A couple came along and sat down at the front whilst there was space and this woman tells them to move...its reserved. The man (english) shrugs his shoulders and just sits there anyway....the tickets are first come first served.

This woman then made his night a nightmare. She practically sat on his lap even though she had tons of room to the right of her. She kept nugging him, poking him, she smoked holding the ciggarette right in his face. She then blew the smoke right in his face throughout the night. She danced right in front so he couldnt see the show purposely moving her arms to try and hit him. Then she constantly got her friends to join in...even her kids.

This went on - her pushing him for hours...I cannot beleive this guy didnt turn around and punch her....she deserved it. Just behind him her friend had a drink and placed it down. Someone came along and accidently tipped it over...getting his shirt all wet - the women (family women with husbands and kids) laughed...they thought it was hilarious. The whole family were now basically bullying this guy.

They didnt find it funny though when me and my daughter came back from the toilets and my daughter stepped in all the drink (they found so funny split) and then stepped all over her jumper to get to our seats.

Then these other people (man & woman)....rather big people tried to get in the line just between us and them....it was a bit of a squeeze and bit crap for me but as this man and woman tried to get through the woman slipped and fell and really hurt her foot....."the family" laughed they thought it was hilarous this woman falling and hurting herself...this couple was Spanish too. This family were well dressed with all the CH and PG clothing but they were scum pure scum.

After a few minutes I told these 2 people to come sit next to us (so I could see better and there was more room) up a level (next to the men of the family) as it was more comfortable....well if looks could kill.

We watched this woman and her friends torment, bully and annoy this man for about 3 hours....it was disgusting behaviour...

And guess what...there were no more friends or family coming...the seats werent even reserved...they just wanted more room...as they thought they owned the place.

It really was awful to see such disgusting and petty behaviour and how this man didnt punch her I just dont know.

Bjorn Again Review Marbella

If you didnt go to Bjorn Again in Marbella you missed a really really good night.

I have to say that I didnt expect it to be as full as it was....but it was pretty full in the end. I think the main reason that it was full is that they really hit the Spanish Market which is the majority here in Marbella regardless of what people think. Abba songs are known to everyone all over the world.

We did sit around for a long time before anyone came on. First to arrive was Maurice Boland to do his speech introducing Becky Tate. Becky Tate sang a few songs....then Ruth Lorenzo came on who was absolutely amazing. What an incredible singer she is...just brilliant and she really got the crowd going.

After what seemed like a long break finally at 1030pm Bjorn Again came on. We had already been here since 8pm and my daughter was getting bored with waiting, plus today was the first day she would not take a siesta so she was tired.

Bjorn Again played on the old favourites and everyone was up dancing and singing. A great moment was when Ruth Lorenzo came on and sang with them in Spanish Chiquitita.

They finished dead on 12pm although people started leaving in order to avoid the rush about 11.30pm....these people are mad because they missed the best bits.

Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia etc etc. Then when they finally went of stage the DJ put on some brilliant music and apparently the party was only just begining. We could have stayed there all night dancing away but our little girl was knackered.

I say well done to Dream Ticket Promotions who put that together, they did a huge amount of advertising and it seemed to be full and all ran pretty smoothly.

There were a few negative points but not due to Dream Ticket (I dont think anyway) I think its to do with the bullring....to get a drink you have to queue up for a ticket and pay. Then you take the ticket to the bar and order your drinks. The problem is 1 person giving out the tickets and 10 people to serve....it didnt work. It was the most ridiculous system we have ever seen.

Bag got searched on way in and wasnt allowed to take food or drink in...so had to throw away....the reason I took was to save queuing for hours on end.

The other negative were the awful family that sat near us...Think of the worst word you could call someone and these people were them, and no they werent English...they were Spanish and it was the horrible side of the Spanish that I really dislike. Will explain in another post.

Also if you do go to the bullring for a show...take cushion for your backside...quite uncomfortable!

Brilliant Night!

In the end we went back home had an ice cream there.

So be warned might be cheaper getting a taxi

Mexican Restaurant Marbella

Really didn't fancy cooking tonight after being at the beach all evening so I called our favourite Mexican to see if they had a free table.

As always a really nice meal, nachos to start, husband had ribs which were delicious and me and my daughter now share the chicken fajitas ordering an extra tortilla.

this plus a water and a couple of beers 43euros

we have never been back to a restaurant as much as the Tex Mex on the Golden Mile. We all like there. The only thing that they are a bit tight on are the chips.... be lucky if you get 1 spudful! they bring big plate with about 5 chips on.

other than that the service is good always better when the Manager is around, food is tasty and not overly expensive.

Live Music, Place for 30´s plus Marbella

If you are aged 35 to 105 and are looking for somewhere in Marbella a little bit classy, a place where you can listen to great music and dance and above all want to be amongst a nice crowd...I have found the place.

Maxwells on the Golden Mile!

I still havent been there to eat yet although did sample a bit the other night and it was delicious. It opens about 10.30 although lately the guys playing piano haven really got going till 11pm. There is Paul Maxwell the owner who plays and also a guy called Johnny Baker who is brilliant too. Then there is Jesus on the guitarr who plays the guitarr brilliantly and is also very pleasing on the eye.

Ive been there a few times now and always had a good time as the music is great and the crowd are generally really nice. Its been very quiet in there lately which is a bit strange as its summer.

Drinks are about 10€ but you are paying to also sit in a nice place and listen to fab music...obviously if you like 60s, 70´s 80´s 90, Elton John etc.
