It seems everyone is ill at the moment. There are a couple of bugs & viruses going around...one throat, cough and fever one and the other is sickness and diareah...can never spell that word.
My daughter has been of school over a week now. I went to take her back yesterday but with all these germs going around I thought and was also advised to keep her away.
My daughter started with a cough that got worse at night, keeping her up. Last Friday I took her to USP...who gave her some medicine. By Monday she was a lot worse, no sleep for her or s and started to complain of chest pain.
She also had a fever a couple of times.
At the hospital on Monday as the USP they immediate sent her for a chest X-ray...probably confirming what the doctor thought was wrong...she has an infection on one of her lungs. So was prescribed Antibiotics.
Yesterday I took all the notes to my usual Pediatria at La Campana who is wonderful for him to double check her over and make a record of everything in her notes. He also suggested she uses an inhaler / ventolin and another.
Whilst this year I have private for my daughter...just because it was quite cheap...I still prefer the Centro De Salud...also the prescriptions are so much cheaper,
I paid 16 euros for the antibiotis the other day with the private prescription. Yesterday with the ss prescription Ventolin was 40 cents. I think its 70% cheaper.
So if your little one has a cough...on going and not getting worse...don't leave it. All doctors have been great...going back on Tueday for check up and then they wish another X-ray in 1 month.
