La Casita La Heredia, La Casita Benahavis Marbella

Saturday Night we were child free and thought Id treat my very hard working man to a night out.

I started browing through Trip Advisor for good reviews on restaurants in Marbella, San Pedro, Benahavis.  La Casita had some great reviews.  I also remember hearing about it a few times through friends and aquaintances.

I phoned up and was able to book for that evening, which was a little surprising, considering how good it sounded.

Driving to the Restaurant really isn´t as bad as some of the reviews say.  They obviously went a long time ago before the road was built as it is now.  Its just about 5 minutes up the Ronda Road from the toll area.

We arrive at La Casita in La Heredia, its very pretty indeed.  Straight away we were seen to and asked if we wanted inside or out.  I chose inside, simply because a breeze got up and was a little chilly, although I wish I chose outside now.

However, inside was beautifully decorated, although rather empty.

The menu was delicious, there were so many things to choose from.  For a little taster we were served some lovely hummus and bread.

For starters we went for the Duck Spring Rolls and also the Chicken Liver Pate.  Both beautifully presented and amazing flavours.  Really really good food.

For mains I went for the Duck Breast served on sweet potato mash and green bean wrapped in bacon and the other main course was a scallop and lobster dish.

Although rather stuffed, with the food being so good, we had to try a pudding and went for just one treacle tart.  Also very good, although it didnt blow me away.

On top of all the food we had 2 bottles of water, a glass of cava, 2 glasses of white wine and a glass of Cognac.  So you can see, 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 dessert and these drinks and the bill came to just over 100euros.

The food was excellent, really really good, some of the best food I have eaten here in Marbella.  The service I cannot fault.  There was always someone around if needed and it was regularly checked that everything was ok without being over the top.

The only thing is I wish I sat outside as inside was quiet and facing a fire extinguisher wasnt the nicest sight and also whilst it was brilliant to watch the guys in the kitchen on the screens inside, there should have been some nicer music playing alongside.  Some french cafe music would have been nice.

Will we go again?  Yes

Would I recommend?  Yes

You can tell if I like a restaurant, because I go back.

Last Friday Night we did an office party for 8 people at La Casita.

We had the Private Dining Area which was beautifully decorated.

The menu was great, something for everyone. A mixture of starters including Pil Pil, Mussels, Duck Spring Rolls and Pate. All were excellent.

Mains were Salmon Wellington, Entrecote, Ravioli or Veal.

Puddings were a selection of Chocolate Brownie, Apple Strudel and Treacle Tart.

The restaurant was very quiet, but because we were in a separate room it didnt matter. The service was excellent throughout.

Everyone enjoyed and all said they would definately return.

If you are looking to book for a large table, speak to Jurgen who is very accommodating.
