Review of Aventura Amazonia Elviria - Aventura Amazonia Marbella

Our Review of Aventura Amazonia Elviria Marbella

After hearing about Aventura Amazonia and going to look at it a couple of weeks ago, we went last Saturday with some friends from school.

The times are on the hour every hour but you have to arrive 30 minutes beforehand for the security talk and iniciation course.

We took 11am slot arriving at 10.30am.  There seemed to be alot of waiting around before we actually got started, infact it was about 12 before we even started the course ourselves.

So firstly the belts / harnesses are put on.  Then we were told to stand in a circle and listen to the instructor.  Because there were more Spanish people, and of course we are in Spain, it was in Spanish, although its quite visual and if you really cannot understand Im sure they will translate.  The instruction spoke about where to walk, how to use the harnesses and the zip wires and everything to do with being safe.  Everyone then tries the iniciation course  and if you do it wrong, you are corrected.  If you dont listen or if the kids dont listen, they know which ones to look out for and they will take you off the course if you do something wrong.

So finally we are let loose, on our own. We started on the kids course, which was walking across moving planks, zip wires, climbing up through netting etc...all really good fun.

Then we all moved onto the next course up, which was slightly more scary and higher.    More walking along moving planks, swinging from one tree to another, walking along wires, climbing ropes...my little girl got about half way and then she had to go down with her daddy who volunteered rather quickly to go with her.  She was just too scared, to be be honest, I was rather scared, but I carried on until a big long zip wire which was brilliant fun.  If you have a fear of heights, well this will make it either better or worse!

Then we did the kids one again with my little girl which suddenly seemed really easy and boring for us adults.  By the time we finished this, we were hot, tired and it was time to go.  You are suppose to have 3 hours in the park but can go a little over.  But when so many people start the same course at the same time there is a backlog.

What to wear
Trainers or shoes with grips.  I wore trainers, next time I will try my walking boots.
Long Jeans or track bottoms.  (I wore light army trousers but the ties and zips kept getting caught) TShirts / Sweatshirts

Dont wear
Expensive Watches, Scarves, Necklaces, Rings, Bracelets.  My husband actually lost his bracelet that I bought hime for Christmas.

Food / Drink
There are vending machines for crisps, chocolate and drinks.  They encourage you to bring your own food and you just leave it in the car or in the park and can sit and eat at many of the tables and chairs around.

My Thoughts
It seemed to take forever the iniciation and waiting for everyone to arrive, but once we got started it was brilliant.  We all had such a great time.  Its tiring physically and emotionally.  You get to points where you think "I cant do this"  but you do it, and the feeling is just amazing.    I will definatly go back and want to start on the adult courses and try and do the next 2 levels.  Whether I will or not I dont know, but Im going to give it try.   We all absolutely LOVED it.

Its 20€ for adults, 16€ for kids and 1€ discount for groups 8 or more.
