Having bought a pair of Hush Puppies School Shoes...whilst they fit really really well, I dont think I will bother again. Just before the first term was up the strap broke. I did get it fixed at a Shoe Repair.
But now just into the 2nd term theres a hole already in the front.
The school shoes my daughter had last year were amazing. Pomme Dápi, expensive, but I bought then in the sale and they had the rubber round the front.
If anyone sees any of these, let me know.

Living Well Marbella - Who Are They?
Over the past couple of days all I have seen is this thing called "Living Well Marbella".
Having looked around the website...I gather its some kind of Retreat / Health Farm. But who is it? Who is behind it? Where is it?
Is it Dr Hillary Jones? Or one of the other "Experts" that is mentioned on the website. Call me sceptical, and whilst I am no, nor claim to be a website specialist....I would like to know "who is" Living Well Marbella. Who owns it, who is responsible for it.
Something so personal as a service of people making you feel better, more confident, healthier....I personally would like to know more about the "Retreat" and Owners beforehand.
Maybe the website isnt quite finished yet...but for me...something like this needs to have a bit of a personal touch.
Also, all I see is if I get the "Green Card" I get 25% off...but off what? 200€, 500€, 1000€.
I guess Im bothered as actually I could do with a week in a health farm....eating healthier, excercising, sorting out little problems / health issues and learn to relax more. But I go to this website and I personally dont feel comfortable.

House Insurance in Spain
At the new year we had a flood in our holiday apartment. Water pouring through the ceilings, everything wet and damp and now mould is growing like mad.
I thought I would keep a quick diary of how the Insurance Company have acted.
On the Monday I returned from Holiday I called the insurance company. Gave my policy number and they said someone will call me back.
Thursday Night someone called asking to meet at the property on Friday.
Friday / Met a guy who is called a perrito...i think...not a dog though. He look round the whole house, wrote notes and took photos.
He told me to wait for a call from the carpenter and also the cleaners.
All seemed good so far.
Returned home and 5 minutes later got a call from the carpenter asking if i can be there in 20 minutes. So back to the apartment, where he removed part of the door frame to match up paint.
Tuesday this week he went back and fixed the door frame that was warped.
So far thats it. I have dehumidifiers in there trying to get rid of as much water as possible.
And now its a waiting game.
It cant be pairing though until its all dry.

Last week about 7th Feb a painter and decorater came along to look at the damage....looks like they will get it done soon!!! Said he will call me this week to collect the keys. So far so good.

Parece que todo el mundo está mal en este momento. Hay un virus dando vueltas ... una garganta, tos y una fiebre y el otro es la enfermedad y la diarea... no puede deletrear esa palabra.
Mi hija ha sido la escuela más de una semana. Fui a llevar a su espalda, pero ayer con todos estos gérmenes dando vueltas que yo pensaba y se informó también de mantenerla alejada. Mi hija comenzó con una tos que se empeora por la noche, manteniendo a levantarse. El viernes pasado llevé a la USP ... que le dio algo de medicina. El lunes fue mucho peor, el sueño para ella o s y comenzó a quejarse de dolor en el pecho.
Ella también tenía una fiebre un par de veces. En el hospital el lunes por la USP que de inmediato le envió una radiografía de tórax ... probablemente confirmando lo que el médico pensó que estaba mal ... ella tiene una infección en uno de sus pulmones. Entonces se le recetó antibióticos.
Ayer tomé todas las notas a mi habitual Pediatría en La Campana, que es maravilloso para él para corroborar sobre ella y hacer un registro de todo en sus notas. También sugirió que ella usa un inhalador / Ventolin y otro. Aunque este año me han privado de mi hija ... sólo porque era muy barato ... yo prefiero el Centro de Salud ... también las recetas son mucho más baratos, he pagado 16 euros para el antibiotis el otro día con la receta privada.
Ayer con la prescripción ss Ventolin fue de 40 centavos. Creo que es 70% más barato. Así que si tu bebé tiene una tos ... en ir y no van a peor ... no lo deje. Todos los médicos han sido grandes ... que se remonta a semana los Martes para el registro y luego quieren otro de rayos X en un mes.

Sickness, Bugs, Coughs, Colds, Viruses in Marbella
It seems everyone is ill at the moment. There are a couple of bugs & viruses going around...one throat, cough and fever one and the other is sickness and diareah...can never spell that word.
My daughter has been of school over a week now. I went to take her back yesterday but with all these germs going around I thought and was also advised to keep her away.

Desde que era joven, cada vez que fuimos a un bar, un pub o discoteca, siempre tenía que asegurarme de que había tejidos. De pronto se convertiría en realidad alergénicos con congestión nasal, ojos llorosos y tos. Me acaba de aceptar que ... tal vez el humo o algo así.
Pero 20 años más tarde ... todavía estoy consiguiendo. Hace unos meses me encontré con unos amigos a los chinos .... me hice muy alergénicos, nariz tapada, tos, etc, etc llegué a casa y el marido dijo ... ¿qué has comido o bebido. Cava dijo. Después de examinar en Internet ... Cava contiene gran cantidad de histamina ... lo explica.
Pero anoche me salió de una pizza con un amigo y ocurrió exactamente lo mismo. No hubo fumadores, que no era caliente en allí y por el tiempo llegué a casa me eché por la puerta gritando a mi esposo ... a conseguir el Zyrtec.
Fue realmente muy mal anoche, con tos y sibilancias. Finalmente se estableció después de tomar el anthistimine.

Help with Allergy - What can I be allergic to.
Ever since I was young, everytime I went out to a bar, pub or nightclub, I always had to make sure I had tissues. I would suddenly become really allergenic with blocked nose, watery eyes, and coughing. I just accepted it...maybe the smoke or something.
But 20 years later...Im still getting it. Driving to Puerto Banus this morning...I finally saw for myself the new Iceland Store in Puerto Banus. It is in what I thought was a strange place...Vasari Resort but then it does have lots of parking during the day. Right Next to 5th Avenue cafe and Thai Gallery.
After much time and gossip around the Marbella Area, It seems that Iceland Puerto Banus is finally opening up.
Originally it was going to open up in Los Arqueros but like "Blue" in Sotogrande...all shop openings seem to have come to a hault.

Nueva Andalucia - PressTo Dry Cleaners & Cafe Next to Chinese Shop
The cafe next to the Chinese Shop in Nueva Andalucia has closed and also it seems Press To dry Cleaners has as well. There is a sign on the door saying....to collect clothes...ring this number.

Marks & Spencers for your Instant Boob Job
This is my last quick post....
One thing that Im quite passionate about is Bras. I see so many people wearing the wrong bra.....even I have the odd hiccup every so often.
But for years, not blowing my own trumpet...I know when people are wearing the wrong size...and more often or not....a little time spent with me and they find they are 1 size smaller in the back and a whole cupsize bigger.
One girl who I worked with...we used to have such a laugh in the office. She used to go on and on about her little b´s. Then oneday...clothes shopping in our lunch breaks....I said...no way are you a "B"....there were lumps and bumps everywhere.
Finally getting measured properly she went from the Very Popular 34b to a 32 dd.
The other day, I went along with a certain famous "Editor" to Marks & Sparks for Bras. I predicted 2 size smaller on the back and a cupor 2 bigger. Yes I was right!
Theres a woman called Debbie who works there and she was absolutely AMAZING. She knew exactly what bra for her shape and my little friend left there not so little anymore.
All the women in M&S are brilliant....M&S is my fav new shop and I dont care paying that little extra for the the pleasure to shop in there.....little extra I mean by compared to M&S in the UK....but actually compared to other shops...its not that bad.
E.G Track bottoms in Hennes 20€...Track Bottoms in M&S 15€

Pay and Display is in Puerto Banus....do read the times / prices as they are a little confusing. Its as if they think everyone still takes siesta...so one price till 2pm and another between 2 and 4.

2 New Indoor Pools in Marbella & San Pedro
Theres a big sign on the way to La Cañada saying that there are 2 new covered swimming pools in Marbella & San Pedro.
I know that they are building or hopefully building one by the sports centre in San Pedro.
But where is the one in Marbella? Or have they done something to existing Marbella Pool and saying its new?

Hay un gran letrero en el camino a La Cañada, diciendo que "hay dos nuevas piscinas cubiertas en Marbella y San Pedro".
Sé que se están construyendo o esperar por la construcción de un centro deportivo en San Pedro.

Not Much Blogging
Not much blogging has been happening this year...simply as its been a crappy start. As soon as I came back from the UK I had fluey, coughy, coldy thing and now my daughter has been off school since last week.
Now she´ll be off school for at least another couple of days. She has a cough that gets really bad at night...she started to complain that her chest hurts so I took her to the hospital this morning where they did an xray and say she has a small infection on the lung.
So Antibiotics for her....for the first time in about 3 years!
Hope it goes away soon, she really wants to go to school.....how great must school be?

First Post of 2011
1 positive...the sun is shining! Yes after 2 weeks in the UK...which I have to say wasnt as bad as I thought it was going to be...in fact I quite enjoyed most of it....the darkness is something pretty hard to get used to after living here for so long. We had 1 day, actually let me re phrase that, 1 short morning of 2 hours where there was a bit of blue sky and sun.
My 2011 has actually started of crap....whilst on holiday New Years Day I get a message saying tenants in holiday apartment had to move out due to flood of the apartment. Great news on January 1st.
I wouldnt mind so much but having literally spent all my time of November & December, getting new Air Con Units, handy men to fix all the bits and bobs that were broken, redo all the walls that were in bad condition. This was the very first let since doing all the work and the apartment really looked great again....now its all ruined again. It stinks, the walls are a mess and the ceiling is all stained and mould is growing like mad.
So my new year started with giving all the money back to the tenants...which they deserved back and cover the cost of all the electric, laundry and cleaning myself. Then on top of that... surprising I have lots of enquiries for January and February which I cannot fill due to the apartment in a bad condition.
Waiting for insurance company to call me to see it and for the icing on the cake....I feel lousy
