New Park Area San Pedro

Driving to San Pedro yesterday where Mc Donalds is in the centre there, I noticed as I was driving down the road before turning right where the big garden centre is, there was a large park area being built.

It was very big and hopefully is a public park and not for a developement there.

Uri Sushi Puerto Banus Review

Yesterday whilst in Puerto Banus buying school stuff I decided to treat my little girl to her favourite food....well one of her favourite foods...sushi.

Had it all planned, thought we´d take her to Sensations at 1pm.  We phoned and the answerphone message said open 1pm.

Typical, get there, all excited and....it only opens in the evening through August.

So, quick thinking, I remember someone telling me about Uri Sushi in the Square in Puerto Banus.  We went along and there were a few people inside.  Now its not exactly Yo Sushi with bright colours or even Wasabi.  In fact its rather dull.  But, the food was really good.

We had numerous plates of sushi, 1 of fried prawns, 2 of the salmon fritters which were absolutely delicious, 2  portions of spring rolls which were all great and a few more plates of sushi and 3 soft drinks.

Bill was 51€uros and we were all stuffed.

Staff were good, food was good, value for money....I think pretty good!

Will I go again...Yes!

Trocadero Marbella - Trocadero Playa Review

Today, we went for a "special lunch" and my OH wanted to take me to Trocadero as he went a few weeks ago on a staff day out, he said it was excellent through and through.

Today we went, me, him and our daughter.  He had booked a table outside...but it was really hot and I asked to be seated inside....I was told they were all booked, although there were minimum 2 tables that hadnt been sat in by the time we left.

We ordered the Russian Salad and Sardines to start. Then for mains I had the Burger and my OH and daughter shared the Dorada which the waiters were rather shocked at...but she likes her food!

The food was nicely presented but for me not the best I have tasted.  The fish was nice and I think if you like fish and seafood then this is great.  Go for the Fish!

The Burger was really thick grounded meat which I couldnt finish, infact I felt a bit ill trying to eat it.  The pudding, he did warn me was going to be rich and thick...but I went for it anyway, and he was right, we went for the brownie which was huge but came with an ice cream and biscuit powder which for me didnt go at all...for my palate.

Service was good by the waiters, would have been nice to sit inside where cooler especially as there were seats available our whole meal.  Not cheap!

Will I go again....Probably, but Id prefer just for drinks, its a lovely place to sit.  The food was a bit indifferent for me, infact my friends nanny made a Russian Salad the other day which was the best Russian Salad I have ever had.  And the Burger at the Beach House is in a different league at the same price!

Lovely place to sit though

The Beach House Elviria Marbella - Review of The Beach House Marbella

Quite a while ago back in June we went to The Beach House in Elviria for the first time.  We had heard some good things about it.

We booked sunbeds before going and on arrival was met and taken to our beds.  Service very good from start. We also were advised to book a table if we were eating in the restaurant.  The sun beds are just normal single sun beds at 8€uros each.  Non of this fancy schmancy stuff, big huge round beds at 100 or 200€uros!

There are guys on the beach serving drinks all day too but they dont make you buy or put you under pressure which is nice.

Went in for lunch and service was still very good.  There is a manageress there that has eyes in the back of her head! She is really on the ball.

We did have to wait while and by the time our main courses came it was nearly an hour from sitting down.  We were getting rather peckish but there was bread etc.

Food was excellent I have to say!  Kids menu also very good with fresh fish and fresh chicken nuggets rather than processed and was delicious.  The first time we went we all ordered burgers which I have to say probably one of the best burgers Ive had on the coast.  Homemade and tasty.

Puddings were really good too and service throughout very good.  Cannot complain!

Bill....well its not cheap but considering you are on the beach its not too bad either.  Its the cover charge for the bread that adds up per person.  But the food was very good.

The following day we went back...as we were on holiday ourselves too along with family and once again the food was excellent!  We had  a few different dishes and everyone was happy.

The only annoying thing is the looky looky men...all day long!  Actually every 20 seconds to be precise!

But beach is nice and much better than in front of Nikki Beach where most of it had been washed away!

Third Visit
Bank Holiday Monday we went back to the Beach House and was rather sad that it wasnt as good as the first time, but thats typical here in Marbella.  The burger wasnt quite the same...although they are home made so its hard getting them the same.  But the kids menu, well my daughter was rather dissappointed.  The fish was about a quarter of the size  of the portions she first had and she didnt like the taste.  However the men did have the fillet steak which was delicious.

Man With Van Marbella

So, I was recommended a guy the other day for removals at 40€ per hour.

I need an excercise bike moved from Marbella to Guadalmina and saw that there were adverts in the back of the papers for man with van 20€ per hour, no job too small! Cover all the Coast!  Which made 40€ per hour look expensive.

Except...you call, and they say they are in Benalmadena and well have to pay for fuel, or its too small, or minimum charge 40€uros.

What seems cheap isnt cheap at all.
